An awesome yet inexpensive way to give yourself that extra sparkle and look amazing!
Rhinestoning your own dance shoes can often be a challenge so to make your life easier we’ve done all the hard work for you!
Here are a few steps to make your Rhinestoning experience simpler:
A few points you need to take into consideration before you start is colour, design and application. An easy way to test out ideas for preparation is to trace your shoes. Start by laying your shoe on its side on a piece of paper and trace the design, it doesn’t have to be perfect. Do the same for the opposite side as well as the hill.
Place stones on the paper trace in different colours and designs. This will give you a good idea on how the overall design will look as well as allow you to test colour combos.
Colour depends on your outfit and the overall colour of the shoe. If you want something simple, then stick to Crystal or Crystal AB on a nude shoe or even Jet Black on a black shoe to be subtle.
For this look we've decided to go for a Crystal and Crystal AB combo. Once you’ve decided on a focal colour scheme then add other colours that will compliment it such as Fuchsia or Rose AB as we've done in our previous design.
If you’re completely lost on what design to choose, start with the basics and do a simple fade on the shoe or otherwise a single tone would also look stunning. It's good to research ideas, there are tons of ideas on Pinterest
PS: Try not to get to carried away, all the beautiful detailed designs can become overwhelming so keep it simple. Especially if it's your first time.
Its best to apply the rhinestones along the edge of the shoes inwards. Another method would be to start from the bottom of the heel upward and using different sizes of stones to fill in the gaps.
If your design is simple and you’re only making use of one colour you can then apply the glue directly to your shoe at your starting point upwards spreading it out. Remember, don’t apply to much glue or it may engulf the rhinestone. Another method would be to dip the rhinestone in glue before applying it.
