These rhinestoning mistakes could have a MAJOR IMPACT on the overall look of your garment. Save time and trial & error by using our tips ⤵️
Not using enough rhinestones 💎
You spend loads of time finding the perfect design, just to spoil the whole look by not adding enough rhinestones. With rhinestones there is a minimum amount to use that will begin to create an impact. Use too little and its looks amateurish and will hardly been seen.
Too much glue / glue on the stone 🤷🏻♀️
Getting glue on your rhinestones will dull them, so avoid using too much glue because it may engulf the rhinestone in glue therefore dulling its shine.
Not rhinestoning fabric in its stretched position 💃🏻
Make sure when you apply your rhinestones on fabric that the material is in the same manner as when it will be worn.
Otherwise if you apply them onto your garment scrunched up and not on a firm surface, it will leave you with rhinestones in places they shouldn't be and risk them falling off.
Using only one size ✨
A rhinestone reflects light to create a sparkle. So if you using only one size you will generally create the same effect. Using different sizes means the light will reflect at different angles which gives you a richer and deeper sparkle. Use as many sizes as you can, you will thank us later 😉
Using mainly a small size 🏆
Continuing from the above tip, smaller sizes should be used to fade and add variety. Not to mention it will take MUCH more time to stone. You should use the smaller stones such as ss6 and ss10 after you've added all your other sizes to give it that pop, not as your main focal point.
